In February, we decided to create a Fluxer community following the Discord dilemma. While we considered options like Matrix and Stoat, Fluxer felt like the easiest drop-in replacement for most Discord users.
Fluxer’s early days had some growing pains; they weren't quite ready for the sudden influx of members, so we held back on moving fully. However, those issues were resolved months ago, and the platform is now very stable, which only strengthens our decision. Not only does it offer a similar UI, but it also aligns with our vision of being FOSS and remaining close to the community.
The Path to v5
We believe Fluxer is the right home for us. With Noctalia v5 on the horizon, we want to establish our new home now to ensure a smooth transition before the big release.
As of today, Fluxer is our official home. Moving forward, we will use Fluxer as our primary platform for communication, including release notes and support. Our focus is shifting away from Discord and toward a platform that better reflects our values.
What’s happening to Discord?
While we won't be deleting the Discord server, we will gradually lock channels by making them read-only, effectively archiving the community. All content will remain visible for reference, but the server will stay in a frozen state, as we are unable to provide active support across two different platforms.
Ready to jump in?
If you joined us back in February, then you are all set! If you haven't made the jump yet, now is the perfect time. It only takes a minute, and it’s the best way to stay connected with the future of Noctalia.
Join us on Fluxer • fluxer.gg/noctalia
This is where the next chapter of Noctalia begins. If you want to stay in the loop, get support, or just hang out with the community, we’ll see you there.
As always, thanks for being part of this journey.
Thanks for reading, Noctalia Team
